Stephan von Stuttgart is a 12 month old black sable German Shepherd. Sables are known to be bred for health and temperament; they are very popular working dogs, especially in Germany. When Stephan was brought out in the waiting room of a veterinary hospital after being neutered, everyone thought he was a bomb sniffing dog, then he went right up to one of our volunteers and climbed in her lap and gave her kisses. Stephan has the look but is a cupcake underneath. He was sitting next to a Chihuahua and was fine; he was more interested in getting kissed himself. We had to laugh later on a walk when some people crossed the street to get away from him, if they only knew!
